August 2026

archer of the month

Micah Gitlewski

This month, we’re excited to recognize 17-year-old Micah Gitlewski as our Archer of the Month!

Micah first got involved in archery around the age of nine after a mentor from his church invited him to a shooting night. That experience immediately got him hooked, and shortly afterward, he visited a local archery shop to get set up with his own equipment.

He began bowhunting around age 12 and entered the target archery world at 15. For much of his archery journey, Micah learned through practice, experience, and a lot of trial and error.

“Archery has really been a ‘me’ sport,” Micah said. “I didn’t have anyone consistently mentoring or teaching me, so I was mostly self-taught.”

That changed in January 2026 when Micah joined the Paradox Archers S3DA team. Since joining the team, he has enjoyed meeting other archers, learning from those around him, and becoming part of the competitive archery community.

Micah also currently works part-time at Wicked Archery, giving him the opportunity to spend even more time around the sport and continue expanding his knowledge of archery equipment, bow setup, and the industry.

Micah especially enjoys 3D archery shoots because every course and target presents a different challenge. The changing distances, terrain, target sizes, and shot angles are what keep the sport exciting for him.

“My favorite shoots are really any 3D shoot,” he said. “I love that everything is different.”

Outside of target archery, deer hunting is currently Micah’s biggest passion. In the future, he hopes to take on an even bigger challenge by pursuing an elk with his bow.

For 2027, Micah has several goals he hopes to accomplish. He would like to compete at the Rushmore Rumble for his first major indoor tournament, try outdoor 50-meter target archery, and attend at least one ASA event.

At only 17 years old, Micah has already built a strong foundation in both bowhunting and competitive archery. His willingness to teach himself, challenge his abilities, and continue trying new disciplines makes him a great representative of the next generation of archers.

Congratulations to Micah Gitlewski, our Archer of the Month!
