At just 9 years old, Avery Bebeau of Rosholt, Wisconsin has already built an impressive archery resume while proving that hard work, dedication, and a love for the sport can take you a long way.

Avery first picked up a bow when he was just 3 years old, but archery really became a passion at age 7. The journey started with a simple stop at Bucks and Bulls in Plover in 2019. While his dad was shopping, Avery asked if he could try shooting a bow. After watching his dad practice in the backyard, his interest continued to grow until he got a bow of his own.

Not long after, a family friend invited them to watch his son compete in an S3DA tournament. Watching competitive archery firsthand sparked something in Avery, who immediately told his dad that he wanted to compete too. Since then, it’s been countless hours of practice, bow upgrades, and dedication to improving his skills.

Avery competes for Bucks and Bulls in Plover and has earned an outstanding list of accomplishments in both the Junior Eagle (8 & under) and Eagle (9–11) divisions.

• 6th Place – Eagle Indoor Nationals (300-55X)
• 1st Place – Badger State 3D Championship

When asked what he enjoys most about archery, Avery says it’s the competition, the challenge, and getting to joke around with friends from across Wisconsin. He also enjoys the mental side of the sport and appreciates the guidance and friendship of his coach, Gary Hintz, who has helped him continue to grow as both an archer and a competitor.

Looking ahead, Avery hopes to compete in some of the biggest events in the country, including the Lancaster Classic, the Vegas Shoot, and Archery Shooters Association 3D tournaments.

Outside of archery, Avery enjoys hunting, fishing, football, playing basketball at the playground, and spending time with his younger sister.
