For June’s Archer of the Month, we’re recognizing an archer whose passion for the sport has spanned nearly five decades.

Jason Brown’s archery journey began in 1976 at just six years old when his father became a member at Sherwood Forest. Spending countless hours at the range helped build a lifelong love for the sport and laid the foundation for a competitive career that continues today.

After stepping away from archery for a period of time, Jason returned around 2010 and quickly became a familiar face at local shoots throughout the Midwest. Whether competing in 3D events or spot tournaments, he found success on the range and developed a reputation as a consistent and dedicated competitor.

That success has continued in recent years. In 2025, Jason earned an impressive 8th-place finish in the Senior Championship division at the Vegas Shoot, one of the most prestigious archery tournaments in the world. That same year, he claimed the Indoor Sectionals Championship and finished 2nd in the National Indoor Series. Jason has also captured three consecutive State Championship titles and continues to perform at a high level, adding victories at both the 2026 Mid-West Open and the 2026 Tri-Star Tournament to an already impressive resume.

While the trophies and titles are impressive, what stands out most is Jason’s commitment to the archery community. He enjoys traveling to shoots and making memories bowhunting with his son, and he takes pride in helping fellow archers improve their skills, tune their equipment, and reach their goals on the range.
