Blackhawk Archers – Wisconsin’s Oldest Archery Club

Founded in 1939, the club stands as Wisconsin’s oldest and most respected archery club. Located in West Salem, the club is dedicated to promoting archery in all its forms while fostering a spirit of community, family, and sportsmanship. Open to archers of all skill levels, our club welcomes both traditional and modern shooting styles.

Exceptional Archery Facilities

Blackhawk Archers is situated on over 20 scenic acres of coulee hillside, providing a beautiful and challenging setting for archery practice and competition. The club features a 28-target outdoor field course, split between standard target and animal targets. Additionally, there is a spacious warm-up range that extends to 100 yards, perfect for preparing before events or casual practice.

Year-Round Events and Leagues

Throughout the year, Blackhawk Archers hosts a wide variety of events and leagues that bring together the local archery community. Popular gatherings include 3D shoots, field archery nights, and target archery competitions. Signature events like the Club 3D and Field Championship and “Sight in Your Bow” Day are annual highlights that attract participants from across the region.

Deeply committed to youth engagement, the club supports programs like the La Crosse County 4H Shooting Sports, Kicking Bear, and Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA).
